Good Gorvernance

The Council is in the process to establish a system to ensure accountability, transparency and community participation in all levels of service provisions.

Implimentation:

process for implementation of a system for Good Governance and Community participation in the council has been started by mainstreaming participatory budgeting and planning process in the council’s plan and budget whereby Community at local levels from all 22 wards participates in planning and budgeting process.

The newly formulated organization structure accommodates the means for monitoring and evaluating the progress of Good Governance through accountability, transparency, integrity and community participation.

Towards this end the council has planned to establish Focal Center for the community and other development stakeholders to provide their comments, share some ideas and complaints or grievances in order to improve the good Governance in the Council. In order to improve Good Governance Network and community participation complains office at the Municipal head office, which will coordinate those from the wards. Also a private computer Network has to be established so as to enhance instant communication.

The center shall also be used as a coordination center between the Municipal council authority and the public, NGOs, CBOs, religious groups and other development partners for increased community participation in good Governance.
